Mental health is very underrated in our society. We hardly talk about our mental health. It is still a taboo in our society. People hesitate consulting psychiatrists because they feel psychiatrists are only for insane.

Mental health is a very fundamental part of our healthy life. It helps us cope with stress, work-life balance. Your emotions thought process is highly influenced by your mental health. So, understanding the importance of mental health is necessary.
Our emotions play a very vital role in the proper functioning of our body. It also increases our productivity and helps in maintaining a social life and cordial relations with people. Stress affects our immunity which results in poor physical health and it may lead to many chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes.
It is very important to talk about mental health as it’s more common than you may think. This is around 10.7 per cent of our total population. And in this era of Millennial and Gen-Z, chances are the number will have exponential growth. So it is the need of the hour that we take mental illness seriously.
