I know according to many of you high blood pressure is the one which should be of our main concern. But let me tell you low blood pressure can also be an issue and can be dangerous. Low blood pressure also known as Hypotension may cause inadequate blood flow to the heart, brain, and other vital organs. Which can be pretty dangerous.

Patients suffering from low blood pressure often complain of having problems like fatigue, dizziness, nausea, lack of consciousness, clammy skin, light-headedness, blurry vision. This is the time where you require medical help. However along with all the medicines and medical help you can also treat this thing by making a few changes in your day to day routine. Some of the tips to raise low blood pressure that you should opt if you are suffering from low blood pressure are as follows:-

🌞Eat small portions frequently

As I mentioned in my last article and would like to mention again postprandial hypotension is a type of low blood pressure that occurs a few hours after eating. Hence the patient who is suffering from this type should opt for a sneak healthy snacking session in between the major meals. By this they can avoid the sudden blood pressure drop that one may experience after meals.

Moreover you can also change your schedule like, if you are eating three full meals a day break it down into five small meals.

Have adequate salt

As the saying goes by, ‘excess of everything is bad’. So is the case with salt. Not only people suffering from blood pressure issues but everyone should avoid excess consumption of salt. Salt is required by our body in adequate amounts. If we take the World Health Organisation into consideration they suggested that we should consume around one teaspoon of added salt besides what we derive from other substances like fruits and vegetables.

Too much salt in our body will lead to water retention and high blood pressure. Therefore we should consume it adequately.

🌞Drink more fluids

Dehydration is one of the major causes for many problems and is also responsible for low blood pressure. Hence it is highly suggested that you should drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water everyday. Apart from water you can also go for drinks like coconut water, bael ka sharbat and aam panna, pomegranate juice. This is so because these liquids will provide the much needed electrolytes to maintain the fluids in our body. Hence we should keep an eye towards our liquid consumption. Moreover water will also help in curing many other problems. Like skin issues, weight issues. In a nutshell it is a wonder liquid .

🌞 Caffeine helps

According to a research the beverages that contain caffeine like tea or coffee are very helpful in boosting blood pressure temporarily. There are patients who experience a sudden dizziness when they get up from rest or when they were in standing position for longer hours. Therefore in such cases you should stuff the patient with caffeinated drinks that will help in boosting their blood pressure for a while. Although no one knows why this happens but it is helpful.

Tulsi is a home remedy which is not only cheap and effective but is trusted from older times by everyone as a substance that can cure every disease. Tulsi contains nutrients like potassium, magnesium and vitamin c which can help in regulating your blood pressure. Moreover it also contains an antioxidant known as Eugenol which helps in controlling blood pressure.

🌞Wear compression stockings

It is said that when our blood pressure lowers down, gravity plays its role and it pools all the blood in our legs. This is where compression stocking comes in. They help in decreasing the amount of blood that is constricted to our lower legs and further distributes it throughout our body. Hence it helps in maintaining blood pressure.

🌞Almond milk or snack on almonds

Almond milk can be prepared as follows.. soak some of the almonds overnight and then in the morning peel them off. Make a paste and then boil them with milk. Almond milk does not have cholesterol and saturated fat. Instead it contain healthy fats like Omega-3 fatty acids. These help in maintaining blood pressure.

Moreover if you don’t want to do this process you can simply snack on overnight soaked raisins and almonds. They are considered as an Ayurvedic treatment to treat blood pressure.

🌞Eat a low carbohydrate diet

It is highly suggested that if you are suffering from low blood pressure issues then you should eat a diet with low carbs. But if you want to include some in your diet then instead of going for simple carbs choose complex carbs. Complex carbs such as oatmeal, whole wheat bread, and barley instead of pasta and white bread.

Concluding it, I would like to say that these are the home remedies that I came across. I know there might be many more. Which you people can introduce us to. Therefore please share your suggestions and remedies that you follow to treat your blood pressure and add up to our knowledge.
