About Dark Circles
Although I know this section could have been skipped but being an informative blogger I would like to tackle the problem from scratch. Which includes knowing about it, understanding it. So let’s begin.
“Dark circles under our eyes happen when the skin beneath both eyes appears darkened. It is different from bruising around one eye from an injury or redness and swelling in one eye caused by an infection. Dark circles under our eyes generally are not a sign of a medical problem.”.Â
The definition above was given by ‘Mayo clinic’. In short, we can say that these little things have the power to make us appear older than we are. To make matters worse, these things can be really difficult to get rid of.Â
Dark circles can affect anyone but it is found mostly in people who are elderly, have a genetic predisposition to this, or they might belong to non-white ethnic groups.Â
But whatever the case might be, these things can’t be given a blind eye and need to be treated as soon as they appear. There are a lot of home remedies and tips to treat dark circles. So, most of the time it is not a thing to worry.
REASONS FOR DARK CIRCLES

My mom used to blame me every time and used to say ‘daughter, your habits of sleeping late and waking up early is the main reason for those little black things under your eyes’. Like everybody else she and I used to think that lack of sleep is the major and only cause for these. However, when I started reading about this I came to know that apart from this there can be many other reasons that might be contributing to those dark circles.Â
This is no surprise that the skin under our eyes is very thin and delicate. Hence this is part that will first show the signs of an imbalance created in our body. To know the broader reasons let’s move further in this section.
1.Fatigue:
As I mentioned above, lack of sleep is one of the major causes for the imbalance in our body and also majorly responsible for those dark circles. Due to lack of sleep, we develop stress which further makes our skin look dull and as a result, our blood vessels tend to look even darker. Lacking sleep can also cause more accumulation of fluid which will make our eyes look puffier and these little bags more noticeable.Â
2.Allergies:
Allergies can also be one of the reasons for puffiness under our eyes. When our body is undergoing an allergic reaction, our body tends to release histamines to fight against harmful bacteria. However, this causes the dilation of our blood vessels making them more visible, especially under our eyes. Along with this it also brings itchiness, redness, and puffy eyes.
3.Dehydration:
Whenever you visit a dermatologist for any skin problem their foremost suggestion is to drink as much as water you can. Dehydration is a major cause of skin issues and many other issues. To remain hydrated our skin tends to pull water from our skin cells. If there won’t be enough water then the extraction of water will make our skin cells look shrunken and sunken.
4.Sun exposure:
Who does not love sitting under the warmth of the sun during this cold weather? However, without any kind of protective shield, this warmth can be harmful. The sun’s rays increase the production of melanin in our body. The things which provide us skin color. Excessive release of melanin can darken the skin around our eyes.Â
5.Aging:
This is an unavoidable factor but what we can do is take some cautious steps that just might slow this process. While we are aging our skin naturally gets thinner as it starts losing fat and cologne. Making the dark blood vessels more visible.Â
6.Genetics:
This is a point about which I even gave a hint above. It is said that dark circles can also be a result of heredity. We can be genetically disposed to them. The reason for its occurrence can be, the presence of excessive pigmentation or melanin.
Hence here are a few reasons that are considered majorly responsible for dark circles. Now, as we are aware of the reasons let’s move to another section which I know might be the only reason why you people will be reading this blog.Â
